Anri Sala - Why The Lion Roars: Forecasts

Ce livre d'artiste est issu de l'oeuvre Why The Lion Roars. Anri Sala a crée une liste de 57 grands classiques, assignant à chacun une température entre -11 et +45 degrés Celsius. Un thermomètre à l'extérieur de l'espace d'exposition mesurait la température, déclenchant un programme de montage. Quand la température changeait, le film correspondant à la nouvelle température reprenait automatiquement là où il s'était arrêté, interrompant le récit et provoquant des collisions de sens imprévues.

For this installation, Albanian artist Anri Sala (born 1974) created a list of 57 classic feature films, assigning each a temperature between -11 and +45 degrees Celsius. A thermometer outside the exhibition space measured the temperature, triggering a film-editing program. When the temperature changed, the film corresponding to the new temperature automatically began where it had previously left off, interrupting the narrative and provoking unplanned collisions of meaning.
